Thirdverse and Polygon Studios Announces Official Strategic Partnership

#### “Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-” developed by Thirdverse Group and BLOCKSMITH&Co., will be on the Polygon Network
 
Thirdverse Group (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hirohisa Kunimitsu), a corporate group led by Thirdverse Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Thirdverse Group") and Polygon Studios, the business arm that is advancing the Polygon ecosystem and protocol, has signed an agreement in a strategic partnership aimed at Web3 mass adoption through the creation of blockchain games using Japanese IPs.

As a first step, we are pleased to announce that Polygon will be used as the basis for the blockchain game “CAPTAIN TSUBASA -RIVALS-”, which will be launching by the end of 2022.

Captain Tsubasa is one of the most popular and long-lasting Japanese manga series of all time. It first appeared in print in 1981 and went on to spawn numerous additional volumes, as well as several animated television shows, the last of which aired in 2019.

Over 80 million copies of Captain Tsubasa have been sold worldwide, making it one of the most successful manga series of all time.

Thirdverse group and BLOCKSMITH&Co. has been conducting research on suitable chains to provide the games on. After many discussions with the Polygon team, we are now sure that both parties' strengths can contribute to the development of the blockchain ecosystem in the future and come to a basic agreement on this strategic partnership.

Additionally, Polygon Studios will comprehensively support technology, marketing, and business development. With the partnership, we will create as many games as possible using the Japanese IP, and globally lead the mass adoption of Web3.
  

#### About “CAPTAIN TSUBASA -RIVALS-”

“CAPTAIN TSUBASA -RIVALS-” is an upcoming blockchain game that allows you to train the characters from the original manga “Captain Tsubasa”, and play against other players. In “RIVAL Mode”, players will play against rival characters and reproduce the original story, whereas in “PvP Mode”, play against other “rivals” online.
